Reeves Cricket Cricketers of 1912 (reprint 1993) Cricketers of 1912 (reprint 1993) 25 - This set was originally produced in 1912 by Glasgow confectioners Reeves Ltd who it is believed later became a subsidiary of British Automatic Co and made chocolate for vending machines and shops. They contain nice colour pictures of well-known players from the period including J.B. Hobbs, W. Rhodes, P.F. Warner, H. Strudwick, F.E. Woolley, G. Hirst, A.A. Lilley, J.T. Tyldesley and legendary sportsman C.B. Fry. The pictures are backed by informative text which gives team, date of birth and a summary of the cricketer’s style and career. For instance we are told that Prince Ranjitsinghi “practically retired from first-class cricket on his accession to an Indian principality” but was described as “a wizard of cricket, his batting being a marvel of ease and grace”. These would make a worthy addition to any cricket collection and are size 63 x 38mm
