Rittenhouse (USA) Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Orville Season 1 (TV Sci-Fi Series) 2019 The Orville Season 1 (TV Sci-Fi Series) 2019 LT72 - These cards are based on the first season of the American Sci-Fi comedy-drama created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company, which premiered in 2017. This contains colour shots from the show in which Seth MacFarlane stars as Ed Mercer whose career has floundered after his divorce, but is then given command of the exploratory space vessel Orville. The only fly-in-the-ointment is that his ex-wife is first officer. This series was inspired shows such as Star Trek and the Twilight Zone and follows the crew on various diplomatic and exploratory missions. This must have proved popular as in May 2019 Fox announced that a third series will be made. The numbered backs contain two different mini pictures as well as describing the action. Factory Entertainment Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Prisoner Volume 2 2010 The Prisoner Volume 2 2010 LT50 - “The Prisoner”, starring Patrick McGoohan, was filed by Granada Television in 1966. It was an immediate success and has become something of a cult, hence Volume 2 of this card series (Volume 1 was under the Cards Inc. banner). The creepy setting was the North Wales village of Portmeirion and supporting actors included stalwarts such as Patrick Cargill and Donald Sinden. This colour series include Episode Guides, Vehicle Cards, Major Characters plus nine fascinating ‘Behind the Scenes’ cards revealing previously unpublished production details and inside information. An excellent set, highly recommended. Size 89 x 64mm.

Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Saint 1st Series (Blue Backs) 2017 The Saint 1st Series (Blue Backs) 2017 LT36 - The suave and sophisticated star of The Saint, Roger Moore, died in May 2017, but we can see him again in this set where he appears as Simon Templar in the 1960s TV show The Saint. The set contains pictures taken from the programme with a different mini pictures and small write-up on the reverse. As with his later role as James Bond, he always seems to have a beautiful lady on his arm, but in this series he played a rich playboy adventurer and problem solver who was able to take on the sort of cases the police couldn’t handle. Whilst his motives were always good sometimes his methods were only just inside the law, but this was overlooked as he always got the baddies. The series which was based on the stories of Leslie Charteris proved very popular both in this country and abroad and apparently Roger supplied his own suits. Pure sixties nostalgia. Size 89 x 63mm.
