Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Stingray 2017 Stingray 2017 LT54 - Anyone growing up in the 1960s will remember Stingray the marvellous submarine piloted by Capt. Troy Tempest. This was another TV series produced by the Andersons using supermarionation. It was the first where the characters had interchangeable heads to allow a variety of expressions and was also one of the first British TV series to be filmed entirely in colour. Tempest, who was modelled on James Garner, works for the World Aquanaut Security Patrol an organisation based in Marineville in the year 2065. Their enemies include the Aquaphibians ruled by King Titan. He had a mute, underwater-breathing servant Marina but after assisting the Stingray crew to escape his clutches she becomes part of the Stingray team. The underwater scenes used a dry set with the camera filming through a narrow water tank which contained air bubblers and fish. Surface scenes used a large tank of blue dyed water. The first 40 cards are action shots from the programme with text about the episode on the back and a different mini picture, then there are 9 cards containing close ups of the characters, Marineville and Stingray with different pictures on the back, followed by 3 ‘behind the Scenes’ cards with pictures on the reverse. Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Supercar (TV Series) 2017 Supercar (TV Series) 2017 LT54 - Unstoppable Cards delight in bringing us sets based on the work of Gerry Anderson. This time we focus on Supercar, produced in 1961-62, which was the first of his series to use supermarionation. The puppets had an electronic system which made them more lifelike, but despite this he preferred his characters to be sitting as the walking was jerky so he and his team came up with Supercar. This was a marvellous car with retractable wings, which could convert into a vertical take-off jet. When on the road it became a hovercraft riding on a cushion of air. The main characters were its inventors Prof. Pipkiss and Dr. Beaker, Pilot/driver Mike Mercury and a young boy Jimmy Gibson and his pet monkey Mitch. The first 40 cards are action shots from the programme with information on the episodes on the back, then the next nine cards are close ups of the super vehicle and characters with another picture on the reverse, followed by three Behind the Scenes cards and two checklists. Size 88 x 63mm these are sure to bring back childhood memories for those he grew up in the sixties.

Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Persuaders 2018 The Persuaders 2018 LT36 - Unstoppable Cards enjoy taking us on a trip down memory lane and this set is no exception. It pictures action from the TV show which starred Tony Curtis as a self-made millionaire and rough diamond and Roger Moore as an English lord and former Army officer. The two globe-trotting millionaire playboys initially dislike each other and as a result of a fight are brought before Judge Fulton who offers them a deal. Either they work together to right wrongs and fight crime or they will experience some time in jail. The series was memorable for the comedy bickering of the two main characters as much as for their adventures. Aside from the cover card all picture colour action shots on the front, with numbers 1 to 25 containing an explanation of the episode together with a different cameo picture on the back and cards 26 to 36 have colour fronts but black and white behind the scenes shots of the main characters.
