The central characters are again Norman Bates and his mother, but this time they are in a different town and in a modern setting. The series starts with Norman’s mother Norma buying a motel following the death of her husband, but before long the body count rises as Norman’s illness gets dangerous. We also see the complicated and stifling relationship he has with his mother.
