Tony Racing Stickers 1988 K8 - They are a set of 8 stickers all featuring Tony the cartoon tiger who appeared in TV adverts for Kellogg’s Frosties breakfast cereal. Two of them refer to the Frosties “secret formula whilst the rest have a racing theme with titles like ‘Racing Team’ or ‘Rally Champ”. The backs are plain and the overall size is 51 x 38mm.

Transport Through the Ages 1st Series 1961 25 - Originally issued with packets of Charter tea and the first of two sets produced on the subject this set illustrates different modes of transport, which as the first card states take us “from the earlier days of civilisation to the present day.” As you might expect the arrangement is more or less chronological, taking us from a litter in Ancient Egypt and a coracle on the Tigris via beasts of burden, carts, sleighs, mail coaches and sailing schooner. The colour pictures are backed by informative text and the set was also produced by Charter Tea c1965. Cards size 68 x 36mm

World of Speed 1981
World of Speed 1981 M36 - Appropriately this set ends with H.M.S. Speedy a Boeing Jetfoil being used by the Royal Navy which is capable of 40 knots, but it also includes a hovercraft, the submarine H.M.S. Spartan, the Bluebird K7 used by Donald Campbell to achieve the world water speed record in 1967, liners like the S.S. United States and Queen Mary and old ships like the Great Western. It is not just speed on water that is covered as the set includes trains line the Intercity APT Class 370, Bullet Train from Japan and the record-breaking Mallard A4 as well as tanks like the Scorpion, motorcycle land-speed record holder Lightening Bolt, a Mercedes Benz C111/3 car, Jaguar XK 120C, the Sunbeam 350 which was the first British car to take the speed record in 1922 plus spacecraft like the NASA Space Shuttle and Saturn V Rocket and planes such as Concorde, a De Havilland Comet and Supermarine S6B which won the Schneider trophy and was the inspiration for the iconic Spitfire. The good colour pictures are backed by plenty of information and the cards are size 70 x 44mm.

Speed 1930 (CCS Reprint 2001) 50 - This interesting set is split into air, land and sea speed records and the set includes the Vickers Vimy Bomber used by Alcock & Brown in their first non-stop Atlantic flight, the Graf Zeppelin airship, Capt. Malcolm Campbell’s ‘Blue Bird’ car which won the land speed record in 1928, the Bentley in which the Hon. Mrs Victor Bruce beat the record by averaging 89.77mph for a 24-hour period, trains such as the Cheltenham Flyer, Royal Scot and American ‘Atlantic City Flyer’, the battle cruiser ‘Hood’ which was later destroyed with huge loss of life in WWII, Cunard liner the ‘Mauretania which held the Blue Riband for many years and the ‘Miss England’ speedboat in which Sir Henry Segrave won the water speed record. These are lovely colour pictures backed by plenty of information. Size 68 x 36mm

Transport 1925 25 - This contains charming colour pictures of transport from around the world including more unusual examples such as a camel litter from Algeria, Zebras pulling a card in Kenya, a bullock sledge in Madeira, Alaskan dog-team, Chinese Junk and wheelbarrow, Pacific Islands dug-out canoe, airship, Runcorn Transporter Bridge, Indian camel carriage and state elephant, reed boat, gondola, Korean screened chair, reindeer sledge, three-horse troika, train ferry etc. More recognizable inclusions are liner ‘S.S Majestic’ and a Handley Page passenger plane. Speed 2nd Series 1962 25 - Issued with Wyatt Earp sweet cigarettes this set contains brightly coloured examples of different vehicles which have one thing in common, speed. There was a 1st series of these also produced in 1962 and the numbering in this 2nd series is continued so the first card is no. 26 which pictures a Kassbohrer Super Golden Eagle coach the longest every built with a top speed of 70 mph. Also in the set are a Ferrari Dino in which Mike Hawthorn became the first British World Champion racing driver in 1958, a D-Type Jaguar which won the Le Mans 24-hour race, the Railton-Mobil Special in which John Cobb became the first man to travel at over 400mph, an MG EX181 driven by racing driver Stirling Moss, an English Electric Deltic which was then the most powerful single-unit diesel in the world, the record holding locomotive “Mallard”, the Trans-Europe Express which linked 70 cities, a B.M.W motor-cycle and sidecar, the Triumph Thunderbird in which motorcyclist Johnny Allen achieved the speed of 214.4mph, an American ballistic missile and pilotless bomber and a Vanguard satellite launched in March 1958. The backs are full of fascinating information and the cards are size 67 x 36mm.
