Skybox (USA) Star Trek Star Trek The Original Series Series 3 Challenge Game (12 different cards from the set of 13 Minus letter C) Star Trek The Original Series Series 3 Challenge Game (12 different cards from the set of 13 Minus letter C) LT12 out of 13 - A picture of the starship Enterprise plus eleven character portraits from the original Star Trek series make up these game cards, each of which has a letter (A.E.F.H.I.L.N.O.P.R.S.T.) at the base to be used in connection with a prize competition at the time of issue. This collection does not include the letter “C.”, which, as stated on the card backs, is the rare 1:18,000 card necessary to win. Even so getting 12 out of 13 of these cards is quite an achievement because game cards generally attract a premium price. Size 89 x 64mm.

This is a novel approach and the artwork is top notch. Story summaries on the backs. Size 89 x 64mm.

The latest card set, just out, is The Next Generation Heroes and Villains, and, as you might expect, it begins with U.S.S. Enterprise captain Jean-Luc Picard and Commander Riker heading the ‘heroes’ cards which outnumber those representing the villains. I have to say it’s good value for money, each card bearing four pictures (three on the front, one on the back) and the backs explain who’s who and what’s what. Size 89 x 64mm.
