M and C Cards Rugby Union & League Gloucester Premiership Heroes (Rugby Union) 2018 Gloucester Premiership Heroes (Rugby Union) 2018 15 - We have not come across M and C Cards before but they are behind this rugby set which uses colour caricatures by Philip Neill of premiership greats from Gloucester Rugby Club. The stars are Phil Vickery who made 88 appearances for the club, hooker Oliver Azam, Nick Wood, prop Andy Deacon, Rob Fidler who scored 25 tries for the club, flankers Peter Buxton and Andy Hazell, James Forrester scorer of 27 tries, fly-half Ludovic Mercier, scrum-half Andy Gomersall, James Simpson-Daniel who made 184 appearances for the club, centre Terry Fanolua, Mike Tindall who is better known for his marriage to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara and full-backs Chris Catling and Olly Morgan. The backs give brief career details and the cards are size 68 x 36mm.

This series of 21 colour photos of Leicester Tigers players plus a checklist is titled Series 5 and showed the players in action with descriptive backs edited by Paul Ackford a former England Player and rugby correspondent for the Daily Telegraph. Card Crazy (New Zealand) Rugby Union & League Rugby Superstars Super 12 Logos Chase Set (Rugby Union) 1996 Rugby Superstars Super 12 Logos Chase Set (Rugby Union) 1996 LT5 - The Super 12 was a Rugby Union competition between 12 teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and this set features the logos/emblems (again on shiny foil) for the New Zealand teams which included Otago Highlanders, Waikato Chiefs, Auckland Blues, Wellington Hurricanes and Canterbury Crusaders. The front pictures have a foil background and the numbered backs repeat the picture and tell us about their likely performance in the Super 12 competition. For instance the card for Auckland Blues describes them as “a champion side full of champion players, the Blues look set to make good on their pre-competition position as favourites” and they did indeed win the competition in 1996. Size 89 x 64mm.
