Views of Interest 2nd Series 1938
Issuer: Hill
Condition: Very Good to Excellent

Description: Britain’s turbulent history has left us with a rich legacy of castles. Their story provides a fascinating insight into the wars and power-struggles this country has endured down through the centuries and there is no better presentation of these amazing structures than the 48 castles featured in this set. Nowadays most are open to the public, so let’s have a quick look at some – Norwich with its magnificent Norman keep houses a wonderful museum, Lancaster (a goal until a few years ago), Dover (a landmark for travellers from the continent), Nottingham (familiar to collectors as the John Player trademark), Tintagel (with its Arthurian connections), Taunton (re-opened as an award winning museum) and Windsor (now fully restored following that terrible fire). This set of hand-coloured photos issued in 1938 is highly recommended. Size 82 x 63mm Number of cards in set: L48
Abbreviations used for Number In Set:
EL = Extra Large; LT = Large Trade ( size 89 x 64mm); L = Large; M = Medium; K = Miniature.
Price for complete set: Only £12.50
