Churchman Reprinted Series The Kings Coronation 1937 (CCS Reprint 2001) The Kings Coronation 1937 (CCS Reprint 2001) 50 - This is a reprint of the 1937 set featuring the coronation of His Majesty King George V. This colourful set comprehensively covers everything relating to the coronation including the King in imperial robes, legends and traditions associated with the ceremony, scenes from inside Westminster Abbey, the regalia used, royal buildings and even the Royal State Barge. The card backs are full of fascinating facts, for instance we learn that in former days a royal herbwoman was appointed to ensure sweet smelling herbs were strewn along the route to mask unpleasant odours or that royal ornaments are brought to the Jerusalem Chamber in Westminster Abbey the day before the coronation where they remain under guard until the ceremony.
