Barratt Railways Trains of the World 1964 Trains of the World 1964 50 - This set contains colourful train pictures with plenty of information on the subject on the reverse. A large section are British including British Railways’ Diesel Pullman, ‘Flying Scotsman’ express, night ferry between Dover and Dunkirk, Class A4 Pacific, the Festiniog Railway in North Wales and a London Transport District Line Train. Among the foreign entries are a French electric loco which beat the speed record, a German Federal Railway ‘Trans-Europe-Express’, Swiss Lötschberg Railway AE 8/8 Electric which hauls freight through the Alps, an Italian State Railway Type ETR300 Electric with glass fronted passenger observation saloon at the front, Spanish Talgo Train, Swedish State Railways ‘Paprika’ train so called due to its red colour, the Japanese ‘Kodama’ Express which had only just come into service in 1964, American Union Pacific Gas Turbine Locomotive, the ‘Trans-Australia Express’ which has the longest stretch of straight track, Pakistan Western Railway’s ‘Khyber Mail’ and Russian Railways’ Type TE3/TE7 Diesel locomotive which weighs a massive 252 tons.
