It pictures in colour some of the legends of the past such as Rodney Marsh of Manchester City, Notts. Forest’s Tony Woodcock who later played in Germany, Liverpool’s Tommy Smith, Bryan Robson who signed for Newcastle in 1962, Hull’s Stuart Pearson who played 15 times for England, Stoke and Ireland star Terry Conroy, Charlie George of Arsenal, footballing legend George Best pictured in Hibrnian kit, Norman Hunter of Leeds United and Sammy McIlroy of Manchester United who was Matt Busby’s last signing for the club. Neill Football Soccer Portraits The 1970s Series 1 2008 Soccer Portraits The 1970s Series 1 2008 15 - More instantly recognisable likenesses with suitably dated hairstyles remind us of soccer in the ‘70s, with Glen Hoddle, Denis Law, Terry Yorath, Rodney Marsh and Peter Shilton to name but a few, fourteen playing for English clubs, the odd man out being Motherwell’s Willie Pettigrew. It is worth noting that on card number 14 Rodney Marsh there is an error on the back of the card in the title panel which states 1950s instead of 1970s, but it does correctly state 1970s on the front. Size 68 x 36mm.
