Ringtons Tea Military & Armed Forces Ships of the Royal Navy 1963 Ships of the Royal Navy 1963 25 - This excellent set contains colour pictures of naval vessels which include many that saw active service in World War II, such as H.M.S. King George V, H.M.S. Warspite, H.M.S. Renown, H.M.S. Hood which was sadly blown up with huge loss of life, H.M.S. Loch Killisport which was designed for anti-submarine escort duties, H.M.S. Mauritius, H.M.S. Ajax, H.M.S. Apollo and the famous H.M.S. Ark Royal. Also included are Brave Borderer which was one of the world’s fastest torpedo boats, a “Wave” class tanker, H.M.S. Truelove which carried out cold weather survival trials in the Arctic in 1950, H.M.S. Daring which was completed in 1952, H.M.S. Dreadnought Britain’s first atomic submarine which was still being built when this set was issued, H.M.S. Explorer a high speed unarmed submarine, H.M.S. Devonshire the Navy’s first guided missile destroyer which also carried a helicopter and H.M.S. Bulwark a 1948 aircraft carrier that has been remodelled as a commando ship housing their equipment and helicopters. There is plenty of information on the back to accompany the pictures and the cards are size 68 x 36mm
