Sarony Miscellaneous Cigarette Cards Saronicks 1929 Saronicks 1929 50 - ‘Saronicks’ illustrating limericks quoted on the backs together with a statement that they are from the “Complete Limerick Book”. The same series of cards was also produced by Major Drapkin under the title ‘Limericks’. Sarony’s ‘Saronicks’ came in two sizes, standard and medium (This one being the standard size) enjoy the comic situations portrayed by the artist in black and red on a white background, not always politically correct for today’s climate, the Jews at the bus stop in Kew, the colonial bellowing at his Indian servant, etc, but they all raise a smile, and the style is definitely 1920s.
