Greater Manchester Police Rugby Union & League Riversiders Wigan R.F.C. 1990 Riversiders Wigan R.F.C. 1990 L24 - Now more often known as Wigan Warriors, Wigan RLFC is a professional Rugby League side who have been more successful than any other team in Rugby League history and have a huge following. It is no surprise then that Greater Manchester Police used pictures of the players to promote their tips for children. The backs give a Riversider’s tip such as “Loose Ball is when during play the ball is not held by a player and not being scrummaged” with the police tip at the bottom “Don’t play ball in the street. Loose balls in this area can cause serious accidents”. There are excellent colour pictures on the front of players, manager and team giving their names and position as well as the logo and name of Milliken Contract Carpets who were one of the sponsors. A black and white badge of the Greater Manchester Police is pictured in the middle of the card backs and the first card also pictures this in colour on the front together with the badges of the club and carpet firm. A fine Rugby League set with cards 105 x 60mm.
