Caramac Railways Railway Locomotives 1976 Railway Locomotives 1976 M42 - Caramac was a brand name for a caramel flavoured bar originally produced by Mackintosh (now Nestle) and the name was an amalgamation of the first parts of caramel and the Mackintosh name. The cards depict engines in colour against a white background with the name of the railway, locomotive and date or operation also on the front. Included are the “Rocket” of 1829, the 1954 “Duke of Gloucester” which was Britain’s last Pacific, a Great Northern Railway “Atlantic” Class loco, the 1904 record breaker “City of Truro”, a North British Railway Tay Bridge engine, a Highland Railway “Skye Bogie” of 1882, a North London Railway 4-4-0 tank engine of 1865 a 1935 A4 Class Pacific designed by Nigel Gresley, a British Railways Class 47 diesel-electric of 1961, a G.W.R 1923 “Castle Class locomotive, Caledonian Railway’s “Dunalastair”, Southern Railway’s “Schools Class locomotive and a Midland Railway “Spinner” 4-2-2 from 1886. The backs are blank, but the pictures more than make up for this. The cards are size 76 x 55mm.

Coronation class “Queen Elizabeth” loco built in 1937, the G.W.R. City class “City of Truro” and King class “King George V”, a Cambrian Railways Beyer Peacock tank loco, Snowdon Mountain Railway’s rack tank loco “Snowdon”, a Class A1 express loco No. 4472 “Flying Scotsman”, the famous Class A4 Pacific express loco “Mallard” which established a world speed record, a South African express loco with heat-exchanger, Brazilian Bauart Mallet articulated loco, American Ps4 Pacific passenger loco, a Prussian tank loco and several German locos. Railway Tavern Railways Steam Locomotives 1999 Steam Locomotives 1999 12 - These cards are issued under the name of Railway Tavern at Aby in Lincolnshire, on the line which used to run from Peterborough to Grimsby pre Dr. Beeching. Sure enough on card 3 of this numbered series we see a Great Northern Sterling at Aby Station and on numbers 4,6,7 and 9 are Cleethorpes to King’s Cross expresses pictured in 1961/2. These are good black and white photos in a blue frame with text backs. Size 67 x 38mm.
