Wills Railways Railway Engines 1936 Railway Engines 1936 50 - This set of 50 colour cards pictures locomotives from Britain and around the world. Whilst the backs give comprehensive facts and interesting snipits of information like the “Silver Jubilee” conveyed the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on their honeymoon, while the “Windsor Castle” was used to pull the funeral train of King George V. Well over half the cards show foreign locomotives from France to Brazil and Nigeria to Turkey including the sleek diesel-electric “Burlington Zephyr” from the United States. Will delight any train buff. Size 68 x 36mm.

Wilson Railways Railway Engines 2004 Railway Engines 2004 L6 - Presented as black and white photographs within a silver frame, the set features a couple of steam locos pictured recently by Robert Wilson on the preserved Great Central Railway, plus four B.R. engines built between 1926 and 1953 captured on camera by Michael Searle in the 1960s, including a 1937 ex-L.M.S. “Coronation” class designed by Sir William Stanier and photographed at B.R.’s Willesden depot in 1964. Sonny Boy Railways Railway Engines (cream card) 1960 Railway Engines (cream card) 1960 50 - These cards, issued by Sonny Boy sweet cigarettes, contain black and white photos of railway engines. The majority are British and the photos are “(by the courtesy of British Railways), but for some reason the last four cards cover locos from French Railways including two diesel-electric rail-cars. Pictured are “Britannia” a Pacific class loco, “Thane of Fife” which was among the heaviest and most powerful, the “Mallard” a giant Pacific type which attained the world speed record, the “Coronation” class engine used on the London to Glasgow service, the “Royal Scott which toured USA and Canada, Southern Railway’s “Merchant Navy” and Electric “Bo-Bo” locomotive, gas turbine locos, No. 10202 which was one of three diesel-electrics and 4-6-0 “King Arthur one of a series of express passenger engines named after King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. These cards have plenty of information on the reverse and the set was also issued with a white back. Cards size 68 x 38mm
