The original Popeye was created by E.C. Segar in 1929 and appeared in King Features’ comic strip, but after Segar’s death in 1938 a series of different artists continued the character although over the years there have been plenty of changes. I yam on defence work. I’m on the job of putting up de fence” The backs feature details of Primrose confectionery including Popeye Sherbert Dabs.
