Card no.1 is the beginning of a text which continues on each card back telling the story of this actor. Born in 1925 he showed early acting promise and, after war service, his stage career began in earnest before going on to star in such films as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, Butch Cassidy, The String etc. There’s a connection with Steve McQueen – they founded First Artists Productions together and both were to die of lung cancer.
