G D S Cards Horse Racing and the Turf 1950s Racehorse Winners 2008 1950s Racehorse Winners 2008 L25 - A new set from Gerald Segasby which contains a couple of National winners, Freebooter (1950) and Sundew (1957), among the twenty-five sepia photos of horses and jockeys in which we see also the likes of Gordon Richards on 1953 Derby winner Pinza and Lester Piggott on Never Say Die in the following year’s Derby. Incidentally, Sundew’s card back refers (rightly) to Fred Winter as the winning rider in the 1957 National, but also states Sundew won with Tim Maloney in 1952 (that race was won by Teal with A.P. Thompson on board). Size 80 x 63mm.

G D S Cards Horse Racing and the Turf 1960s Racehorse Winners 2007 1960s Racehorse Winners 2007 L20 - It was back in 1994 that G.D.S began issuing cards, and their early series were on racehorses, not surprising since Gerald D. Segasby (G D S) is an ex-jockey. This latest series in monochrome within an orange border features some pretty aristocratic horse-flesh including Derby winners (St. Paddy, Sea Bird, Royal Palace, Relko and Blakeney) and Grand National champions such as Team Spirit, Kilmore and Foinavon, with career histories on the backs. Size 80 x 63mm.
