Breygent Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Marilyn Monroe (Photos by Shaw Family Archives) 2007 Marilyn Monroe (Photos by Shaw Family Archives) 2007 LT72 - Photographer Sam Shaw was famous for his relaxed, natural looking pictures of film stars a legacy preserved by his family who are named as the source of these pictures. The cards, mainly black and white, are enhanced on the fronts by the addition of gold glitter to certain parts of the card. The tragic story of Marilyn is well known, but these cards capture her at her best. Card number 1 quotes Shaw as saying “I just want to show this fascinating woman with her guard down, at work, at ease off-stage.. and as she often was – alone”, which he certainly achieved. The card backs are filled with facts about the star and card 72 is a checklist. A superb set. Size 89 x 64mm.
