Description: Combining Graham Turner’s superb artwork with wonderfully informative and evocative texts, the cards begin the story with a 20mph Panhard in the 1890s and end with the 1985 John Player Special Lotus with carbon fibre chassis from the Lotus factory on a former wartime aerodrome at Hethel near Norwich. The early years culminate with the 1937 Mercedes-Benz W125 which established a Monaco lap record which would stand for eighteen years. After the war we find foreign makers such as Maserati, Ferrari, Matra, Alfa and Renault joined by British Vanwall, Cooper, Tyrrell, Williams and BRM, the last named featuring on no. 19 Graham Hill at the wheel winning in the rain at the Nurburgring in the 1962 World Championship.
