Comic Images (USA) Fantasy Art The Brothers Hildebrandt Fantasy Art 1994 The Brothers Hildebrandt Fantasy Art 1994 LT90 - The Detroit-born brothers Greg and Tim Hildebrandt are creators of fantasy art par-excellence as this card series demonstrates. The painting on the first card was for their own 1979 novel 'Urshurak' and much of their work is for illustrating books, for which they have won a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators, and for calendars such as the award-winning 1976 Tolkien Calendar. Their paintings have a wide appeal and are exhibited in several galleries, and their qualities are evident in this set with repeat mini-image and description on the backs. Size 89 x 64mm.

F.P.G (USA) Fantasy Art Joe Devito Fantasy Art 1995 Joe Devito Fantasy Art 1995 LT90 - F.P.G. specialised in 1990s fantasy art. The latest addition is one of the better products in that Devito has come up with a greater than usual variety of subjects and styles, although with pervasive violent and surreal undertones. And these cards are not only titled on the backs, but include the artist’s comments on what he is trying to achieve, how he works and where the art was published. Size 89 x 64mm.

F.P.G (USA) Fantasy Art J K Potter Fantasy Art 1995 J K Potter Fantasy Art 1995 LT90 - For those of you who have never heard of J.K. Potter, or Jeffrey Knight Potter to give him his full title, he is an American artist whose surreal artwork has graced many horror/sci-fi book covers. He describes his work as altered photos and certainly they start out as photographs, but are then cleverly changed. The colourful pictures are unique and I rather like them. They make a change from the general scantily clad females or comic book characters that form the basis of many other fantasy art sets. Particularly fun are the morphed body parts such as the hand with a girl’s body. The backs contain a different black and white drawing together with details of the book or artwork from which it was taken. Size 89 x 64mm.
