Hartlepool United FC Football Hartlepool United Legends 2011 Hartlepool United Legends 2011 EL32 - This unusual set was issued by the club as a fundraiser. Supporters were encouraged to buy cards which had a scratch-off section on the reverse and if you managed to match three symbols you qualified for prizes ranging from £1 to £500 or signed football shirts, football, match tickets etc. This competition ended in 2011 and winners had to collect their prizes from the Victoria Park ground within 90 days or purchase to claim their prize. The pictures on the front are a mixture of black and white and colour with Hartlepool logo at the top, player name and card number in white strip, then a dark blue and light blue strip giving statistics and information on career with the club. Included are more recent players such as Joel Porter and Michael Barron and old-time stars like Fred Priest from 1908 and Joshie Fletcher who played between 1908 and 1913. The cards are well produced and size 105 x 74mm.

The fifteenth cards traces the four-times F.A Cup winning club’s history back to its origin in 1889. The players are arranged chronologically from Ernest Needham, with The Blades from 1891 to 1909, through to Brian Deane who spent two spells at the club in 2006.
