Included here are Billy Wright of Wolves, the first player to win 100 international caps, West Brom’s Len Millard who captained the side to success in the 1953 F A Cup Final, Watford’s Frank Mitchell who also played cricket for Warwickshire, Sunderland’s Willie Watson one of only a few men to have represented their country at both football and cricket, Jack Rowley of Man United, Harry Haddock of Clyde who was Scottish Player of the Year 1959, John Charles of Leeds United for whom Juventus paid a record fee and the legendary Stanley Matthews of Blackpool.
