Carreras Film & Stage Stars Pre-1940 Paramount Stars (Film Stars) 1929 Paramount Stars (Film Stars) 1929 27 - This set was issued in the early days of talking pictures and celebrates some of the stars working for Parmount who had survived the transition from the silent era. These include Bebe Daniels, Evelyn Brent, Fay Wray, Gary Cooper, George Bancroft, Clara Bow, W.C. Fields, Wallace Beery and his brother Noah and Richard Dix. All are shown in glossy black and white head and shoulders pictures and the numbered card backs supply plenty of interesting facts about the actor or actress as well as given some of their films. For instance we learn that Chester Conklin was originally a clown in a circus and a comedian before appearing on screen or that Clive Brook was invalided out of WWI due to shell-shock and on his recovery had a successful film career in America where his English accent was a big asset. A lovely set with cards size 68 x 37mm.
