J.F.Sporting Collectibles Cricket Cricketers The Golden Age Pre Great War 5th Series 2011 Cricketers The Golden Age Pre Great War 5th Series 2011 LT24 - Whilst most of these are indeed pre-Great War players, in the case of Sir. H.W.R. Bencraft as far back as 1876, Yorkshire’s T.A. Jacques’ career was entirely post-Great War extending from 1927 to 1936. Some of the subjects were not only cricketers. J.P. Wilson (Yorkshire) also won the 1925 Grand National on ‘Double Chance’, A. Drake played football for Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield United and Birmingham City, whilst Kent’s C. J. Burnup was an England football international. We see them all in full-length black and white photos except Jacques (head and shoulders). Size 89 x 64mm.

J.F.Sporting Collectibles Cricket Cricketers The Golden Age Pre Great War 7th Series 2014 Cricketers The Golden Age Pre Great War 7th Series 2014 LT24 - This further selection of country cricketers born during the second half of the 19th century and whose careers blossomed in the years before the Great War (and in one or two cases later – W.R.D. Payton turning out for Notts. 489 times between 1905 and 1931, and Surrey’s W. Abel carrying on for the county until 1926 at the age of 69) are shown in a variety of poses in black and white photos with career details on the backs. Eight were England cricket internationals and Leicester’s G.W. Hillyard represented England at tennis in the 1908 Olympics. Size 89 x 64mm.
