County Print Cricket Durham County Cricket Club Pavilions 1992 (Postcards) Durham County Cricket Club Pavilions 1992 (Postcards) EL7 - This set was produced when Durham had just been elevated from the minor counties to first class cricket. Most of their fixtures are played at their Riverside Ground in Chester-le- Street, but this set pictures pavilions at some of other grounds the county side have played at including the Racecourse Ground in Durham which staged the first home fixture in first class cricket in 1992, the County Cricket Ground at Jesmond, Park Drive, Hartlepool, Ropery Lane, Chester-le-Street which is situated only a short walk away from the Riverside Ground which the back refers to as “the proposed Riverside Park development and new County Cricket Ground”, Feethams in Darlington where Durham played Somerset in 1992 Grangefield Road, Stockton-On-Tees where in 1996 Durham played Surrey and Eastwood Gardens in Gateshead who’s pavilion was rebuilt in 1966/67 after a fire. The postcard format backs contain a few words about the venue and all the photographs were printed with the permission of William A. Powell author of the Wisden Guide to Cricket Grounds. These come in an envelope marked “Durham County Cricket Club Inaugural First Class Season 1992”. Size 140 x 90mm
