Included are Mr Bumble the beadle and the brutal Bill Sykes and child criminal The Artful Dodger from ‘Oliver Twist’, Sydney Carton the hero of ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, Nicholas Nickleby who was the lead character in one of Dickens’ most successful novels, the eccentric Mr. Pickwick, Martin Chuzzlewit who’s adventures in America apparently offended readers from that nation, David Copperfield who was apparently the favourite character of Charles Dickens, the tragic Little Nell, Captain Cuttle from ‘Dombey and Son’, Barnaby Rudge and the every cheerful Mr. Micawber who was apparently based on Dickens’ own father. In all there are 38 cards as numbers 33 and 39 are not available.
