Aston Cards Motoring Speedway Programme Covers 7th Series More Fabulous 40s (2008) Speedway Programme Covers 7th Series More Fabulous 40s (2008) LT24 - Another nostalgic collection of programme covers reproduced in colour takes us back to the immediate post-war years when big crowds packed stadia around the country to enjoy the thrills and spills of speedway. Included are well-known tracks like Harringay, why are they called “The Canaries” in the 1930s, I wonder, surely that should have been Norwich’s nickname but they were called “The Stars”, Tand lesser-known tracks such as Eastbourne whose programme warns “Weather permitting. Betting strictly prohibited.” Size 90 x 64mm.
