Wills Birds, Butterflies & Moths Butterflies and Moths 1938 Butterflies and Moths 1938 L40 - When these were reviewed in our magazine back in 1938 this set was described as “possibly the very finest ever issued on the subject” and it would be hard to disagree with this statement. These colourful butterflies and moths are captured in all their glory on these cards and perhaps it is just as well as many of these are now on the endangered list. Take the Swallowtail which is described as “formerly occurring in various parts of Southern England, but is now pretty much confined to the Norfolk Broads. Some of our favourites from this set include the Orange Tip, Brimstone, Comma, Small Tortoiseshell, Camberwell Beauty, Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies and the Death’s-Head Hawk-Moth, Broad-Bordered Bee Hawk-Moth, Puss, Garden Tiger, Magpie and Six-Spot Burnet moths. The backs are full of interesting information about the butterflies and moths. This set offers you the chance to get up-close and study these amazing creatures without them fluttering off. Cards size 80 x 62mm.
