Miranda Motoring 100 Years of Motoring 1955 100 Years of Motoring 1955 50 - Originally issued with ‘Captain Kid Sweet Cigarettes’ these cards feature colourful drawings of cars through the ages beginning with a Maceroni & Squire steam-coach of 1834 and ending with a 1954 Dodge ‘Storm Z.250’. There are some fascinating facts on the back, for instance the Knight steam-carriage was a private carriage owned by Mr Knight of Surrey which required a mechanic on the back to stoke the boiler who was called ‘chauffeur’ from the French for stoker. There are lovely examples from around the world including an American Oldsmobile of 1903, Velox Tourer, a Napier Tourer of 1905, a Daimler racing car of 1907, the odd looking A.C. Tricar of 1909, luxurious Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, Ford’s Model T, a Baby Peugeot of 1913, Fiat racing card of 1919, 1922 Austin Seven, 1949 Morris Minor and a Jaguar XK 120-C racing car of 1953. A wonderful set for anyone interested in motors and their history with cards size 68 x 37mm.
