Ogdens Cricket Australian Test Cricketers 1928-29 Australian Test Cricketers 1928-29 36 - These are mainly action shots of cricketers with a few head and shoulders pictures, but the title could be misleading as you might think this set only contained Australian players, but in fact includes their English opponents as well. Amongst the Australians are D.D.J. Blackie, C.V. Grimmett, Don Bradman, W.M. Woodfull and V.Y. Richardson, whilst the English contingent include Leslie Ames, Walter Hammond, Jack Hobbs, Harold Larwood, Herbert Sutcliffe and Ernest Tyldesley. The backs are full of information about the player, for instance we are told that the ‘iron nerve’ of Australian T.J.E. Andrews often stops a collapse or that John White “the clever Somerset leader” was “well built with full strength for a man thirty seven years old and healthy like all farmers”. An excellent set with cards size 68 x 36mm.
