Breygent Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Three Stooges 2005 The Three Stooges 2005 LT72 - This set features colour pictures taken from films featuring American comedy act The Three Stooges. The original trio were Moe Howard (Horwitz) and his brother Curly and Larry Fine (Feinberg). Moe was always the ringleader with Larry the mop-haired middleman and Curly the balding idiot. They made more than 200 comedy shorts between 1934 and 1958 but after the first 97 Curly had a stroke and his brother Shemp took over the role, later replaced by Joe Besser and subsequently ‘Curly Joe’ De Rita. Their original short films were re-run on American TV in the 1960s and ‘70s. These cards take us from the 1930 “Soup to Nuts” an early talkie, through to the 1963 “The Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze” where they attempt to help Phineas Fogg III to go around the world in 80 days. The numbered backs give details of the films except for the last card which is a checklist. Classic slapstick. Size 89 x 64mm.
