Ruby Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art A Tribute to Dads Army 2009 A Tribute to Dads Army 2009 10 - It’s more than forty years since Dad’s Army first aired on TV and umpteen repeats later it is still as enjoyable as ever, so the actors in these black and white photos within Union Jack corners will be fondly remembered by viewers of all ages. Alas the years have taken their toll and many of the stars, including Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, John Laurie, Arnold Ridley and Jimmy Beck, are no longer with us, but the excellent and very comprehensive text backs reveal each of their life stories right through to the present in the case of Ian Lavender (Private Pike) appearing in Sister Act the Musical in the West End. Size 68 x 36mm.

Ninety Minutes Football Ninety Minutes Footballers of the 1950s 1st Series 2009 Ninety Minutes Footballers of the 1950s 1st Series 2009 20 - I don’t recall seeing any of these footballers on cards before, so this series is all the more welcome. The head and shoulders photographs are backed by descriptive texts bringing to life an era half a century ago, an age of wooden terraces, leather footballs and home-grown players, the likes of local boy Charles Crowe who joined Newcastle for just £10, Peter Angell who played in 418 league games in a 13-year career with Q.P.R and Norwich City’s Roy McCrohan with 384 league games for the Canaries. Size 68 x 36mm.
