Sanitarium (New Zealand) Rugby Union & League All Blacks Code Black (Rugby Union) 2013 All Blacks Code Black (Rugby Union) 2013 M30 - These Code Black Play/Score/Win cards were originally issued in sheets in Weet-Bix cereal packets in New Zealand – 4 players in the 1kg boxes and 3 players and a blank card in the 750g boxes. The numbered fronts feature a small player picture with statistics underneath such as height, position, date of birth and a ‘Did you know?’ fact. For instance the card for Tony Woodcock tells us he is the most capped Prop in All Black history. Two corners on each card rounded and the others are cut at an angle. Each card contains a code which could be entered on the Weet-Bix website with the first so many able to obtain a booklet/album. The set is divided into Captain, Cut, Dummy and Skip cards which it is believe enabled you to play a game along the lines of rock, paper scissors with captain acting as trump card. Amongst the players are Gary Whetton who with his brother Alan became the first twins to play at test level for the All Blacks, Luke Romano who we are told has size 17 feet, Israel Dagg, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Beauden Barrett, half-back Aaron Smith, Keven Mealamu, Ben Smith who won a gold medal with the rugby sevens in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Ma’a Nonu, Daniel Carter, Owen Franks, Kieran Read, Andrew Hore, Richie McCaw the most capped All Black and Piri Weepu who also played indoor netball. Players Flags, Arms & Maps Countries Arms and Flags 1905 (CCS reprint 2001) Countries Arms and Flags 1905 (CCS reprint 2001) 50 - This charming set is also a bit of a history lesson as it includes many changes. There are countries who no longer exist or who now have different names and flags. For instance we see the elephant flag of Siam (now Thailand), Prussia, Hesse, Bavaria, Saxony etc. are now part of Germany, also the German flag of white with a black cross and eagle is today black, red and gold, Persia is now Iran, China’s red flag with a dragon now has yellow stars, Argentina’s 1905 flag had dark blue and white lines (today light blue lines with yellow sun), the Irish flag was a Union Jack with a harp and Russia ad a blue saltire on a white background (which after the red flag of the Soviet Union era is now white, blue and red). We are also used to Corea being spelt with a K and would normally refer to Tunisia not Tunis, but some of the biggest changes are to former British colonies such as New South Wales which had its own flag in 1905, but is now part of Australia, India which is shown as a British flag with emblem (now orange, white & green flag with wheel) and Canada which in this set has a Union Jack with arms in the centre, but now of course features a red maple leaf. The numbered backs contain further information and the cards are size 68 x 36mm.

Rittenhouse (USA) Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Game of Thrones Season 6 2017 Game of Thrones Season 6 2017 LT100 - The Game of Thrones TV series was based on the novels of George R.R. Martin, but this series concentrates on Season 6 of the show which aired between April and June 2016 on HBO. The ten episodes continue the story of the struggles between rival noble families to take the Iron Throne. There is plenty of violent action, medieval style costumes, sex and intrigue which perhaps explains its continuing appeal. The first 30 cards are episodes from the show and except for the last card, which is a checklist, the remainder are character cards with descriptions on the reverse. This set is not for everyone, but there are plenty of fans out there for whom it is a must have. Size 89 x 64mm

Dart (USA) Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art I Love Lucy 50th Anniversary Classic Memories Sub Set 2001 I Love Lucy 50th Anniversary Classic Memories Sub Set 2001 LT6 - The classic American TV comedy show I Love Lucy first aired in 1951 and in 2001 Dart issued a series of sets celebrating its 50th anniversary. This set showing favourite clips. These are shown against a foil background which I am not sure adds anything to the picture. All feature Lucy (Lucille Ball) as she gets herself into various scrapes including the chocolate factory scene where the chocolates on the conveyor come so fast that Lucy and friend Ethel can’t wrap them in time so end up stuffing their clothing and mouths. Also featured is Lucy doing a vitamin ad when she gradually gets drunk as the product contains alcohol, the episode where Lucy has trouble with an overlarge loaf, Lucy as Superman and in a cigar factory in Havana and Lucy pressing grapes in Italy. That last episode was one of the most popular and also appeared in the background in the Pretty Woman film. Text appears in a pink heart on the back telling the story behind the scene. Size 89 x 64mm
