Allen (Australia) Cricket Bradmans Records (Cricketer) 1932 (reprint 2002) Bradmans Records (Cricketer) 1932 (reprint 2002) 18 - This is a reprint of Allen’s confectionery series of 1932 celebrating the remarkable batting record of Australia’s greatest cricketer Don Bradman. Born in 1908, the Don had already established some remarkable feats when these cards were issued, including a world record 452 not out, as we learn from the text backs on these numbered cards which also advertise Allen’s Steam Roller mints. This classic vehicle graces the introductory card to this original series which includes the Morris JB in Royal Mail livery, a Commer Q25 (Lyons Ice Cream), Trojan Senior (B.R.S.) etc., all with good descriptions on the backs. Cecil Court Football Class of 66 (Football World Cup Team) 2002 Class of 66 (Football World Cup Team) 2002 L12 - Names that stand out in football’s hall of fame, Banks, Cohen, Wilson, Stiles, Jack Charlton, Moore, Ball, Peters, Bobby Charlton, Hurst and Hunt, will never be forgotten as the team that brought England World Cup glory and here they all are in head and shoulders colour caricatures with detailed descriptions on the backs. The twelfth card is of Alf Ramsey, former Spurs player and England captain in the early 1950s. After managerial success at Ipswich (he was their manager according to the text and a man of high principals) he was appointed England team supreme in 1963. The rest is history. Size 79 x 62mm.

Golden Era Motoring Classic Fiat 2002 Classic Fiat 2002 L7 - The Italians have a reputation for design flair and this is epitomised in the Fiat Dino Spider with Pininfarina body and Ferrari-designed engine which was probably the best mass-produced sports car of its generation. Both the Dino and 124 Spiders are in this set, as is the ultra-basic Cinque Cento which is like an enclosed 4-seat go-kart and whose production run topped 4 million we are told in the text. A Spridget, of course, and that’s the title of this series which covers models from the two ranges of which more than 350,000 were made from 1958 to 1979. Amongst those illustrated are an early Sprite which sold at under £500 ex-tax ad the MG Midget 1500 Mk V with a Triumph Spitfire engine and alterations to improve safety for the U.S market.
