Duo (USA) Film & Stage Stars Pre-1940 Abbott and Costello 1996 Abbott and Costello 1996 LT72 - William Alexander “Bud” Abbott and Louis “Lou” Francis Cristillo (Costello) teamed up in 1936 and were soon household names as a comedy duo, at first on stage, but then in a series of films throughout the 1940s and ‘50s to become “one of the most beloved comedy teams of all time”. In 1942 they were the USA’s number one box office attraction, the first comedy team to ever top the list and their hilarious antics kept them as top attractions throughout their careers, as demonstrated on these cards with descriptive backs. We follow their adventures as they try to adjust to living in New York and use their power to fight evil. These cards are split into groups of “character cards” e.g. Goliath, the brave leader of the clan, “battle cards”, “good vs evil” and so on, ending with nine “shadow fighters” pop-out cards. Croxley Card Co Rugby Union & League Leicester Tigers Series 5 (Rugby Union) 2001 Leicester Tigers Series 5 (Rugby Union) 2001 LT21 - Croxley have previously issued three Rugby Union series (British Lions, Saracens and Tigers) which were headed Series 1,2 and 3 respectively and for the 2001 season they produced two more. This series of 21 colour photos of Leicester Tigers players plus a checklist is titled Series 5 and showed the players in action with descriptive backs edited by Paul Ackford a former England Player and rugby correspondent for the Daily Telegraph. The Players include Graham Rowntree, Austin Healy, Josh Kronfeld and Martin Johnson. Size 89 x 64mm.
