Classic Lambretta Golden Era of Scootering 2008
Classic Lambretta Golden Era of Scootering 2008 EL6 - Golden Era takes us back to the 1960s when motor scooters were all the craze, and the most popular of all was the Lambretta. Here we see colour advertising posters, including one with buxom film star Jayne Mansfield, with different illustrations on the backs, such as the October 1967 cover of ‘Scooter & Three Wheeler’ price one shilling, an advert for the Lambretta 125 “ours for seventeen shillings a week” and a poster for a rally at Southend (which the Mods attended en masse).

Classic Riley 2008
Classic Riley 2008 EL6 - A Riley 2.6 would have set you back £1,412, as we discover on the back of one of these cards extolling the virtues of B.M.C’s Riley range “for magnificent motoring” back in the 1960s, using colour adverts from the period picturing the likes of the ‘Elf’ and ‘Kestral’ on the fronts with more on the backs. Classic VW Transporter 2008 EL6 - Still beloved by Ozzie youngsters touring/camping, the Volkeswagen Transporter displayed on these cards in advertisements the 1960s/70s in scenes contrived to demonstrate its load-bearing capacity as both a private and commercial work-horse, including the mini-bus (Kleinbus) and flat-bed versions, with further pictures on the backs. Classic Wolseley 2008 EL6 - These six cards celebrate the heyday of a famous marque which has disappeared since the ‘60s when the advertisements pictured on these cards proudly extolled the virtues of the ‘Hornet’, ‘1100’, etc., produced at Cowley, “quality and dependability guaranteed by B.M.C”, with a top-of-the-range 6-99 with automatic transmission in the showroom at £1,325. Lambrettability The Golden Era of Scootering 2008 EL6 - Golden Era seem to be suffering from a bout of Lambretta fever. Out of their new issues, this is the third to focus on the Italian icon. The 150 crops up again, this time with arrows homing in on its main selling points, among them “running costs under ½ d per mile” – I reckon that makes petrol about 5p a litre in those days! No wonder all the riders looked so cheerful. Size 100 x 70mm.
