Granose Miscellaneous Trade Cards Adventures of Billy the Buck 1952 Adventures of Billy the Buck 1952 M48 - These cards were originally issued by Granose Foods in packets of ‘Sunnybisk’ breakfast cereal in 1952. The cards take us on a journey from Billy as a tiny fawn hidden by his mother in the woods to full blown stag with a family of his own. Whilst the Granose address on the back is given as Waford the colour illustrations are clearly based on an American story as among the dangers Billy faces are wolves and bears. The numbered backs give details of an album that was originally available. A lovely nature set with cards size 63 x 63mm.

Granose Railways 150 Years of British Locomotives 1980 150 Years of British Locomotives 1980 M20 - This is a lovely set which covers locomotive developments from a replica of Stephenson’s Rocket of 1829 right through to a Inter-City 125 high speed train. The colour pictures are mostly taken at the National Railway Museum in York and include a North Eastern Bo-Bo electric loco of 1904, a G.W.R 2-8-0 of 1905, a Class A4 named Sir Nigel Gresley in tribute to the great engineer, a British Rail Class 9F ‘Evening Star’, 1960 diesel-electric, and Class 50 1967 diesel-electric. The backs give the type, date of operation and name of the locomotive concerned and tells you that “there is more fascinating information regarding this locomotive printed on a colour project poster which is obtainable by sending a 12p stamp with your name and address…” What is nice about this set is the number of diesel-electric trains which are sadly missing from a lot of train sets. The cards are size 77 x 58mm.
