World War II Propaganda Diamond Edition 1991
World War II Propaganda Diamond Edition 1991 LT15 - These reproductions of posters produced by both sides in World War II were originally designed for a variety of purposes – to boost morale, sell war bonds, show the war being won, aid recruitment etc. – and used striking artwork to press home the message, as we see on these cards which include a Hitler portrait with the slogan ‘Adolf Hitler is victory!’, an R.A.F. daytime raid on Berlin (‘the downfall of the dictators is assured!’), and ‘Every Canadian must fight’’, all with texts on the back to place them in the context of the period. Size 89 x 63mm.

Remember Pearl Harbour 1991
Remember Pearl Harbour 1991 LT50 - December 7th, 1941, was a turning point in World War II when Japanese aircraft attacked Pearl Harbor, the Hawaiian island base of the American Pacific Fleet, sinking or crippling eight battleships and killing 3,600 men. Admiral Yamamoto had hoped the devastating strike would force a negotiated peace. Instead President Roosevelt addressed the American people with his “Day of Infamy” speech and declared that “a state of war now exists between the United States and the Japanese Empire”. This historic card series uses both black and white and colour photographs of the action, the men involved and the aftermath, with descriptive backs. Size 89 x 64mm.
