Kellogg Flowers and the Garden Gardens to Visit 1987 Gardens to Visit 1987 M20 - This is a fine set on a subject not much covered. Originally issued with Kellogg’s ‘Nutrigrain’, three to a packet, these delightful colour cards contain photos of famous British gardens which are open to the public. Many of the photographs are credit as being by Heather Angel whose work also appeared on some of the later Player’s series. The backs provide an interesting write-up about the garden and include details such as opening times, directions, owners etc. Amongst those featured are our local favourite Hestercombe, Mount Stewart in Northern Ireland, Wisley in Surrey, Plas-Yn-Rhiw in Wales, Bowood in Wiltshire, Warwick Castle, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal in Yorkshire, Powerscourt in Eire, Crathes Castle in Scotland, Alton Towers which is better known for its theme park although its gardens are equally impressive and Hever Castle in Kent. A special folder to house these cards was also available from Kelloggs in exchange for four tokens. Visually stunning and with detailed text this set is well worth adding to any collection. Cards size 74 x 57mm.
