Design At London Colour Ltd Miscellaneous Trade Cards Advert Cards (Paintings and Artwork) 2018 Advert Cards (Paintings and Artwork) 2018 EL4 - These advert cards are all very different, in fact the only thing they have in common is that they were produced by Ian Shoesmith at Design At London Colour and presumably demonstrate the range of illustration and printing types offered by this firm. The first card is reminiscent of a Victorian print of a lady and flowers, whilst the next, ‘The Eye’ looks very modern. Not sure what to make of “Crucifix” which is clearly telling a story, but not sure what that is! The last card, titled “Ancient Yew”, is in black and white and this gnarly tree is given a hint of mystery with a small wooden door. Sadly there is no information on the backs other than an advert for the company. These cards are size 105 x 74mm

Design At London Colour Ltd Fantasy Art More Bizarre Imagination Series 2013 More Bizarre Imagination Series 2013 10 - Bizarre is certainly a fair description. Size 69 x 37mm.

Design At London Colour Ltd Miscellaneous Trade Cards Calendar Girls 2017 Calendar Girls 2017 M8 - This set contains stylish pin-up girls artwork with a retro 1940s/50s feel. The subjects are mostly pictured in swimwear or underwear, but there is nothing to risqué. As Kenny Everett would have said they are “all done in the best possible taste”. Six of the numbered backs contain a blank bi-monthly calendar whilst card number one has a brief history of the pin-up model and the last card in the series features a mini picture in a star shape. Size 73 x 52mm

Design At London Colour Ltd Miscellaneous Trade Cards The Story of Barratts Sweets Factory The Early Years 2013 The Story of Barratts Sweets Factory The Early Years 2013 10 - Using pictures and extracts from a documentary film, this set tells the story of the early years of Barratt’s sweets and their Wood Green factory in north London, beginning in 1848 when George Osborne Barratt created ‘lock jaw’ toffee. The excellent photos and texts chart the company’s expansion up to World War II and we see women on the production line that turned out Sherbert Fountains, Jolly Lollies, Christmas Novelties, seaside rock and sweet cigarettes. It was a family-owned firm for more than 130 years when production moved to Bassetts of Sheffield. Size 69 x 36mm.

Design At London Colour Ltd Fish, Fishing & the Ocean Underwater Predators 2018 Underwater Predators 2018 EL20 - This set is both fascinating and scary at the same time. It pictures some of the creatures that lurk underwater around the world and the text on the back was written by keen angler Kevin Midmore who is pictured on some of the cards with his catch. The set includes two species often seen in water parks, the Dolphin and Orca, but there are some fearsome predators featured which only an angler would want to meet such as the Wells Catfish, Bull and Great White Sharks, Barracuda, Payara nicknamed Vampire Fish, Moray Eels whose bite is so severe that it isn’t \\r\\nRight: new Predators set\\r\\nreleased even in death and the incredibly ugly Atlantic Goosefish with it’s huge mouth full of razor-sharp teeth. You may never go into the water again after seeing these cards, but they offer an interesting look at some of the most effective killers of the deep and the pictures are excellent. Size 102 x 74mm
