This show capitalised on the popularity of cowboy shows at the time and told the story of a fictional Kansas town of Four Feather Falls and the adventures of its inhabitants who included Sheriff Text Tucker, voiced by actor Nicholas Parsons. The Sheriff was granted magical feathers as a reward for rescuing the grandson of Chief Kalamakooya which enable his guns to point and fire on their own when he is in danger and his horse Rocky and dog Dusty to speak. Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Secret Service 2018 The Secret Service 2018 LT18 - The Secret Service was the eighth and final Anderson series to use supermarionation puppetry, but this differed from previous shows in that its central character Father Stanley Unwin resembled and was voiced by a real-life comedian of the same name and it also included footage of live actors in the long-distance shots. The story focuses on Father Stanley and his verger Matthew Harding who work in a quiet English village, but they have a hidden-life as secret agents for an organisation known as BISHOP which is a covert branch of British Intelligence. In their defence of the realm against foreign agents and terrorists they often deploy a secret devise known as the minimiser which shrinks people to a fraction of their actual size. This proves useful in smuggling Harding into difficult to access places and also shrinks villains so they can be easily defeated. In addition Unwin has a 1917 Model T Ford known as Gabriel which has been secretly revamped. Apparently Gerry Anderson was a fan of Stanley Unwin and wanted to make full use of his comic talents including his ability to speak his own form of gobbledegook. The cards picture the characters and scenes from the series whilst the numbered backs feature different pictures and details of the episode or character. Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Prisoner 50th Anniversary 2018 The Prisoner 50th Anniversary 2018 LT36 - These cards picture action from the 1960s cult classic TV show The Prisoner which starred Patrick McGoohan as a former British agent who suddenly resigns and plans to leave the country. Whilst packing he is captured and imprisoned in a mysterious coastal village. All the inhabitants whilst seemingly contented are only known by numbers and nobody seems able to leave. Assigned the number 6 it does not take the hero long to realise that he is a prisoner even if the setting is lovely and his flat has been recreated. As well as security agents a balloon type devise known as ‘Rover’ captures or destroys escapees. No. 6 cannot trust anyone, especially No. 2 who is an agent working for the mysterious No. 1. It appears that those in charge wish to know why No. 6 quit so quickly and use various methods to try and get him to reveal all. The series had a very surreal feel as the world he enters is both beautiful and menacing. It was filmed in the real village of Portmerion, an Italian styled coastal village in North Wales. Some of the backs contain information on the series whilst the majority contain different black and white pictures and there is one checklist card. Size 88 x 63mm

Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Stingray 2017 Stingray 2017 LT54 - Anyone growing up in the 1960s will remember Stingray the marvellous submarine piloted by Capt. Troy Tempest. This was another TV series produced by the Andersons using supermarionation. It was the first where the characters had interchangeable heads to allow a variety of expressions and was also one of the first British TV series to be filmed entirely in colour. Tempest, who was modelled on James Garner, works for the World Aquanaut Security Patrol an organisation based in Marineville in the year 2065. Their enemies include the Aquaphibians ruled by King Titan. He had a mute, underwater-breathing servant Marina but after assisting the Stingray crew to escape his clutches she becomes part of the Stingray team. The underwater scenes used a dry set with the camera filming through a narrow water tank which contained air bubblers and fish. Surface scenes used a large tank of blue dyed water. The first 40 cards are action shots from the programme with text about the episode on the back and a different mini picture, then there are 9 cards containing close ups of the characters, Marineville and Stingray with different pictures on the back, followed by 3 ‘behind the Scenes’ cards with pictures on the reverse. Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art Supercar (TV Series) 2017 Supercar (TV Series) 2017 LT54 - Unstoppable Cards delight in bringing us sets based on the work of Gerry Anderson. This time we focus on Supercar, produced in 1961-62, which was the first of his series to use supermarionation. The puppets had an electronic system which made them more lifelike, but despite this he preferred his characters to be sitting as the walking was jerky so he and his team came up with Supercar. This was a marvellous car with retractable wings, which could convert into a vertical take-off jet. When on the road it became a hovercraft riding on a cushion of air. The main characters were its inventors Prof. Pipkiss and Dr. Beaker, Pilot/driver Mike Mercury and a young boy Jimmy Gibson and his pet monkey Mitch. The first 40 cards are action shots from the programme with information on the episodes on the back, then the next nine cards are close ups of the super vehicle and characters with another picture on the reverse, followed by three Behind the Scenes cards and two checklists. Size 88 x 63mm these are sure to bring back childhood memories for those he grew up in the sixties.

Unstoppable Cards Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art The Persuaders 2018 The Persuaders 2018 LT36 - Unstoppable Cards enjoy taking us on a trip down memory lane and this set is no exception. It pictures action from the TV show which starred Tony Curtis as a self-made millionaire and rough diamond and Roger Moore as an English lord and former Army officer. The two globe-trotting millionaire playboys initially dislike each other and as a result of a fight are brought before Judge Fulton who offers them a deal. Either they work together to right wrongs and fight crime or they will experience some time in jail. The series was memorable for the comedy bickering of the two main characters as much as for their adventures. Aside from the cover card all picture colour action shots on the front, with numbers 1 to 25 containing an explanation of the episode together with a different cameo picture on the back and cards 26 to 36 have colour fronts but black and white behind the scenes shots of the main characters. As with his later role as James Bond, he always seems to have a beautiful lady on his arm, but in this series he played a rich playboy adventurer and problem solver who was able to take on the sort of cases the police couldn’t handle. Whilst his motives were always good sometimes his methods were only just inside the law, but this was overlooked as he always got the baddies. The series which was based on the stories of Leslie Charteris proved very popular both in this country and abroad and apparently Roger supplied his own suits. Pure sixties nostalgia. Size 89 x 63mm.
