Cup winning goals in history, full-back Tom Garrett who played more than 300 games for Blackpool and Chelsea’s wing-half Sylvan Anderton. Career details on the back. Card numbers 1 to 4 have “Football Card Collector” below the text, numbers 5 to 10 have a black strip. Size 68 x 36mm.

The footballers include Edward Purdon of Birmingham City, Ken Harwick of Doncaster Rovers, George Hudson of Swindon Town, Rotherham’s Alf Gibson, Harry Glberg of QPR, Leicester’s John King, Swansea goalie John King and West Brom’s Ronnie Allen. The backs have plenty of career information so we learn, for instance, that Tom Tilston of Wrexham ended his playing career at Crystal Palace and that Southampton’s Eric Day played for the club his whole professional career. Football Card Collector Football Soccer Heroes (1950/60s) 1st Series 2014 Soccer Heroes (1950/60s) 1st Series 2014 10 - Here we have a collection of ten black and white photos of footballers whose careers blossomed in the twenty years or so after the war. Perhaps the most famous is Manchester United’s (and England’s) Duncan Edwards who was killed in the 1958 Munich air disaster. Among the others we see Plymouth Argyle’s Jack Chisholm who played 175 league matches for the Pilgrims as well as playing county cricket for Middlesex, and West Brom’s Jim Sanders with almost 400 league appearances for the Baggies and an F.A. Cup Winners medal in 1954 as described on the card backs. Size 68 x 36mm.
