Hat-trick Cards Football Everton Heroes (Footballers of the 1960s) 2011 Everton Heroes (Footballers of the 1960s) 2011 10 - The 1960s were good times for “The Toffees”, winning the league in 1962/63 and the F.A. Cup in 1966. Wing half Brian Harris (no. 5 in this card series) played a major role in both campaigns, while Alex Parker (no. 6) was prominent in the championship win and Derek Temple scored the winner in the cup final. In all, eleven Goodison favourites are featured (two players on no. 10) in oval blue and white head and shoulders photos on a colourful background, with biographies on the reverse. Size 68 x 36mm.

Included are Phil Thompson, Liverpool’s long serving player and latterly club captain, who also won 42 caps for England, Manchester United and Republic of Ireland international Gerry Daly, Everton defender Terry Darracott and Q.P.R’s goalie Phil Parkes who turned out over 340 times for the London club and once for England. Among other remarkable statistics are those of John Trollope who played 770 games for Swindon Town, an English league record, and he was still in the first team in 1980 twenty years after signing for the club.
