Payne Tea Dogs and Pets Dogs Heads 1963 Dogs Heads 1963 25 - You don’t have to be a dog lover to appreciate this set as the colour drawings of canine heads are full of character. There is a particularly lovely drawing of a Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, but also included are a Kerry Blue Terrier, Alstatian, English Sprinter Spaniel, Gordon Setter, Scottish Terrier, Saluki, Peckingese, Borzoi, Dalmation, Bloodhound, Boxer, Mastiff, Greyhound, Deerhound, Boston Terrier, Airedale Terrier, Scottish Collie, Foxhound, Miniature Poodle, Welsh Corgi, Pointer, Golden Retriever, English Setter and Chow Chow. The numbered backs give plenty of information on the breed for instance the Greyhound card tells us that they are of very ancient origin and their sense of smell is poor so they chase prey entirely by sight and their build is streamlined for speed. This set was also issued by Amaran Tea and Bishops Stortford Dairies – see website for availability. Size 68 x 36mm.
