Lot 93

With plenty of interesting items amongst the 358 lots in our August auction picking our star lot was not easy, but in the end we could not resist selecting lot 93 which is an F & J Smith set of 50 Derby Winners 1913 estimated at £600. You don’t have to be a fan of the turf to appreciate the beautifully drawn horses, but it is the comprehensive nature of the set, giving us both the owner and jockey as well as facts about the horse, which really appeals. If you require further information about any lot in this auction please do not hesitate to get in touch on 01458 273452 or via cards@londoncigcard.co.uk.

Other lots in the auction offer sets & type cards from as little as £2 a lot and many other card collecting items. Each lot is carefully described with its condition and estimated value. Make sure you read through the auction catalogue carefully so you don’t miss out. A guide to how we assess condition and how to bid can be found on the bidding sheet or click here for information, so it couldn't be easier if you are an auction beginner.

Don't forget we do not charge any buyer Premium

Saban Entertainment (USA) Films, TV, Sci Fi & Comic Art VT Troopers B Jeb 1995 VT Troopers B Jeb 1995 LT5 - VR (Virtual Reality) Troopers was a sister series to Saban’s hugely popular Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and like that show features teenagers who have the ability to acquire armoured bodies. In this show Ryan, J.B and Kaitlin go looking for Ryan’s lost dad and discover a Professor who explains that there is a secret virtual reality world existing alongside ours from which mutants come who want to rule both worlds and it is up to the teens to protect both realms. Also helping is Jeb a talking dog. There are sets for each of the main characters (4 in total with 5 cards each) and this set, labelled B, makes up into two different sectional pictures (front and back) of the dog Jeb. Aside from this name and that of the company there is no text on these cards which are size 95 x 63mm

Just Jazz Magazine Pop Stars & Singers Jazz on a Sunday 2010 Jazz on a Sunday 2010 EL12 - Jazz is an unusual subject for a modern card set (c2010) so this is a welcome addition. The postcard format backs give information on the band members and their instruments whilst the colour fronts picture them in action. Amongst those featured are the Yorkshire Stompers, the Tuxedo Jazz Band who we are told plan the music of New Orleans, the Tame Valley Stompers who were the Magazine’s Band of the Year in 2008/9, Roy Potts Five and a Penny, Millennium Eagle Jazz Band which featured a teen drummer, Manchester’s Harlem Hot Stompers and the bizarrely named Chicago Teddy Bears Society Jazz Band who are based in the Cheshire/South Lancashire area etc. These cards are size 146 x 105mm \\\\r\\\\n
