Curchman Set of 25 Eastern Proverbs 1st Series 1931

Our set of the month for February is Churchman’s Eastern Proverbs with humorous artwork by Rene Bull illustrating proverbs with more than a ring of truth in them. This is the standard-size first series of 25 dating from 1931. These sayings will strike a chord with most of you – “A man thinks he knows, but a woman knows better” on card no. 3, “If someone tells you you are drunk, go to bed – even if you are perfectly sober” (no. 12) and “Look at the mother before becoming engaged to the daughter” (no. 15) – sound advice indeed!

This set of 25 Eastern Proverbs 1st Series issued by Churchman in 1931 in very good condition is catalogued at £20.00.
