Players Set of 50 Cycling 1939

Our Set of The Month for August describes the development of this healthy mode of transport over a period of almost two hundred years. Issued in 1939 with the assistance of the editor of "Cycling" magazine, the sequence begins with the Hobby-Horse, the bicycle's pedal-free forerunner propelled by feet on the ground, through to modern in-door races on light-weight machines. Each technical advance is chronicled along the way, matched by superb illustrations which not only show how bicycles (and tricycles and tandems) have progressed over the years but also how fashions have changed. We cannot recommend this series more highly it is a credit to those who compiled it and it should be in your collection.
