Brooke Bond Set of 50 History of the Motor Car 1968
This year marks the 50th anniversary of a British motoring icon, the Mini. British ingenuity and expertise has led this country to play a leading role in the development of the motor car, as we can discover in our Set of The Month, Brooke Bond’s 1968 series 50 History of the Motor Car with superb artwork by Kenneth Rush illustrating road vehicles from the days of steam power through to the latest (1960s) high performance racing cars, with Peter Hull’s descriptive backs brim full of interesting facts. Included, of course, is the Mini or more correctly as card no. 46 states, Morris Mini Minor, which, we are told was “the first really revolutionary mass-produced British car whose remarkable features were its unique front-wheel drive design with a transverse engine enclosing the gearbox in the crankcase, tiny 10 inch wheels and all-independent variable rate rubber suspension”.
This set of 50 History of the Motor Car 1968 in Mint condition is catalogued at £12.50.
